Ok Experts, any idea what this is? Thought it was bubble algae but I pulled the coral out and it is rock hard and I cannot remove it from this coral!

That definitely looks like some kind of encrusting coral or maybe a calcified sponge rather than bubble algae. If it’s rock hard and stuck to the coral, I’d be careful trying to pry it off to avoid damaging the tissue. What’s your lighting and flow like around that spot? Sometimes that
