came back from vacation after letting someone else care for my tank and my torch looks like this…Is this brown jelly? Is this even salvageable

Looks like jelly or tissue damage. That left one is most likely lost. If you have a dremel you could cut it down the middle and maybe save the right side

i had to toss it, it was not coming back and I have neither the time nor resources to treat it atm. It also smelled absolutely god awful

That purple on your mushroom frag plug is seriously popping under the blues! Sorry to hear about your torch though, that totally sucks after a trip.
yeah the person i entrusted to care for the tank did not put any top off water in even after instructed and i had premade the water… 5/40 gallons had evaporated by the time i got back and the water level was well below the tank rim. Couldve been what did the torch in
