Never had a pincushion but I got a small (smaller than a golf ball) tuxedo urchin and it’s a bulldozer when it comes to any algea (green hair algea included) it will eat the big pieces of algea that nothing else touches.

Seconded. Was avoiding them because they eat coraline too but SO worth it for the algae control.

My tuxedo doesnt touch my gha, Could be the type tho, there are many kinds and not all are palatable to herbivores.

I love my Tuxedo but he is a huge jerk, probably has caused the demise of a few frags.

I had a tuxedo in a tank with GHA but he was more focused on coraline and knocking over frags lol. He’s in the bigger, super established tank now that’s never had GHA so no clue if he’d have eventually taken to eating it.

My tuxedo has been happily vacuuming up chrysophytes and grinding away my coraline. I don't mind the coraline munching, he actually doesn't wander too much to bother coral and the nuisance control is worth it.
