Oi pessoal... sou novo por aqui. Sou só um iniciante. Há 2 anos comecei com um aquário de 15 galões, depois mudei para um de 40 galões e agora temos um novo aquário de água salgada de 125 galões. Tem sido desafiador, mas eu gosto do hobby. Ainda estou aprendendo.
Hi everyone... I'm New here. I'm just a beginner. 2 years ago I started with a 15 gallon and then moved into a 40 gallon and now we have a new 125 gallon saltwater tank. It's been challenging but I do like the hobby. Still learning.

Legal, é o mesmo aquário que eu tenho. Eu comprei ele no começo sem perceber que precisava de um overflow. Acabei fazendo alguns furos na parte de trás, o que foi bem assustador haha.
Sweet that’s the same tank I have. I bought it initially not realizing I needed an over flow. Ended up drilling a few holes in the back which was quite scary hah.

Eu também fiquei tentado a furar. Mas arreguei e decidi fazer esses canos sifão por gravidade de PVC. Funcionam bem. Só preciso ficar de olho no nível da água porque às vezes eles perdem o sifão e aí eu tenho que reiniciar. Mas não me importo. Não vai transbordar porque tem a quantidade certa de água pra isso não acontecer..🤭 tive que testar algumas vezes.
I was also tempted to drill. But I chicken out and decided to build these syphon gravity pipes out of PVC. They work well. I just have to keep an eye out on my water level because sometimes they break syphon and then I have to reset them. But I don't mind. It won't overflow because it has the proper amount of water not to..🤭 had to test it a couple of times.

Você testou em caso de falta de energia? Se a sua bomba de retorno parar, você vai querer ter certeza de que o sifão não continue puxando água a ponto de o sump transbordar
Have you tested power outage? If your return pump goes out you’ll want to make sure your siphon doesn’t continue pulling out water to a point your sump overflows

Oi maleficent... Sim. Você está certo sobre o sifão se faltar energia. Mas eles não vão fazer o sump transbordar. Eu montei os meus para sifonar só até a borda do topo do aquário. São cerca de 9 galões. Quando falta energia, isso enche o sump de 40 galões até a metade. Eu tenho 2 recipientes separados na parte de baixo do meu setup. um é para o skimmer e o outro é o sump de 40 galões.
Hi maleficent... Yes. You are correct about the siphon if the power goes out. But they won't overflow the sump. I built mines to only syphon out up to the edge of the top of the tank. It's about 9 gallons. When the power goes out it fills the 40 gallon sump to halfway of the sump. I have 2 separate containers on the bottom of my set up. one is for the skimmer and the other is the 40 gallon sump.
