I’ve always liked pushing the limits with my reef a little.

A few years ago I kept a juvenile Emperor Angelfish in my reef for almost two years. Watching him transition into adult colors was amazing and he almost felt like a pet… until one day he decided my corals tasted pretty good 😅

Now I’m tempted again.

I’ve been thinking about trying a captive bred Regal Angelfish. From what I’ve read they adapt better to prepared foods and sometimes behave better in reefs.

For those who have tried it:

Would you risk a captive bred Regal in a reef tank?

Or is it just a matter of time before it starts sampling corals?

Would love to hear your experiences before I give in to the temptation.

Got me a Foxface in today. I shop all my fish at Trinh Fish and Corals. It’s where I got my XL Blue hippo tang from also that is 6 inches. All fish are healthy and do not use any water from the bag of you have corals cause they do contain copper where they make sure the fish are clean before shipping to you

Another question. I’ve got a Kleins butterfly fish. I’ve heard mixed reviews on coral nipping with these guys. I figured I’d do sps corals and he wouldn’t bother them much, but just read a story about a Klein skipping over softies specifically for the sps, which I found bizarre.. I don’t have any coral yet but was wanting to start that up soon. Is it worth the risk, or should I rehome him and try another fish?

Its been two weeks since I got a pair of Long fin Clownfish!

They finally settled and started to learn their feeding cues! Much less food waste now!

I got some diatoms in the sand and glass but the copepods and snails are catching up nicely!

Now is just a lil maintenance 😁

Excited to add a cleaner shrimp and/or hermit crabs in the next couple of week! (Still deciding on the hermits) What you guys think?

And now I’m researching for compatibility for the anemones and soft corals

or maybe just add the Euphyllia instead is anemones🤔

FREE Creole Anthias Needs a Bigger Home 🐟💙 (Deer Park NY – No Shipping) Fish Adoption!

We just took in this 10-inch, 3-year-old Creole Anthias from a customer who can no longer keep him. He’s totally healthy and gorgeous — but he really needs a large fish-only tank to thrive.

Right now he’s in a small temporary tank at our shop, so we’re actively looking for a reefer who can give him the proper space and a comfortable home.

✅ Free to adopt

🐟 Must have a large fish-only tank

🚫 We do NOT ship fish

📍 Pickup only — 2112 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729

🏡 We just want him to be happy in a big, suitable system

If you or someone you know can take him in, please reach out.

Thank you for helping us find him a good home! ❤️

Adjusted lights to see.

Extreme Snow Onyx Clownfish Pair

Yellow Watchman

Filamentous Flasher Wrasse

Lost a sharknose and banggai to some rookie mistakes.

Letting the tank mature for now before adding anything else. Thinking about mixed corals, a BTA and some RFAs.

Got a new clown after the black/white male killed the other one. My LFS advised trying a female next, and so far I think we’re on a better path! 🤞🏻 The male was doing the twitching thing since the moment we introduced her, and they’ve been swimming peacefully since. Have a cleaner shrimp arriving this week then we are fully inhabited! On to corals next! Trying to decide if I want to do an anemone for the clowns with some soft corals, or just all soft corals… 🤔
