I’ve always liked pushing the limits with my reef a little.

A few years ago I kept a juvenile Emperor Angelfish in my reef for almost two years. Watching him transition into adult colors was amazing and he almost felt like a pet… until one day he decided my corals tasted pretty good 😅

Now I’m tempted again.

I’ve been thinking about trying a captive bred Regal Angelfish. From what I’ve read they adapt better to prepared foods and sometimes behave better in reefs.

For those who have tried it:

Would you risk a captive bred Regal in a reef tank?

Or is it just a matter of time before it starts sampling corals?

Would love to hear your experiences before I give in to the temptation.

Citrus goby is being a picky eater

Only eating live brine shrimp. Though picture doesn’t show, he seem very skinny and all bones while I couldn’t feed him live food while I was on vacation. I have tried hikari gumbo, frozen brine, garlic infused pellet, flake fish food without success. Any recommendation on what else I can do?

Another question. I’ve got a Kleins butterfly fish. I’ve heard mixed reviews on coral nipping with these guys. I figured I’d do sps corals and he wouldn’t bother them much, but just read a story about a Klein skipping over softies specifically for the sps, which I found bizarre.. I don’t have any coral yet but was wanting to start that up soon. Is it worth the risk, or should I rehome him and try another fish?

Have a new tank coming in soon.

Got a Waterbox 330.7 and putting together a potential fish list. I know I have a tendency to be aggressive about what I put in my tanks.

Wanting any feedback from personal experiences! Thank you in advance!

I don’t know why this powder brown is so stressed all the time?! None of my other fish show signs of stress. But she has the stress lines, hardly comes out, barely eats (she’s sooo skinny) and runs into EVERYTHING. Rocks, overflow, glass, other fish, my nori feeder, my hand. Any suggestions? At this point the only thing I can think is pull her from the display.
