Description
The Pennant Coralfish is a striking black, white, and yellow butterflyfish with a long trailing dorsal filament and bold vertical bands. It is often confused with bannerfish and is valued for its elegant appearance, but it is generally best suited for experienced aquarists due to its specialized care needs and tendency to nip corals.
Reef Safe
No
Environment
Requires a well-established marine aquarium with stable water quality, plenty of swimming room, moderate to strong water movement, and rockwork for security. Typical reef conditions are recommended, with temperatures around 72-78 F, pH 8.1-8.4, and salinity 1.020-1.025.
Behavior
Active, constantly swimming fish that does best with ample open space. It may be kept singly or in compatible groups if the tank is large enough, and it may pick at sessile invertebrates.
