Description
The Ruby Red Dragonet is a small, bottom-dwelling saltwater fish known for its vibrant red coloration and intricate patterns. They are popular in the aquarium trade due to their peaceful nature and unique appearance.

Yes. They are commonly kept in reef aquariums and do not pose a threat to corals or other invertebrates.
Environment
They prefer a tank with plenty of live rocks and a sandy substrate to mimic their natural habitat. The tank should also have plenty of hiding spots to provide security.
Behavior
Ruby Red Dragonets are peaceful and non-aggressive. They are mostly sedentary during the day and become more active during the night. They are solitary and prefer to stay near the bottom of the tank, hiding among rocks and corals.

A small fish that scoots around the sand and rock. They are entertaining to watch them scouring the rocks for pods and are fairly self sustaining when enough food it present. They tend to be very difficult to get to eat frozen foods or pellets and normally REQUIRE live and sustainably copepod populations in your aquarium for them to eat. Some will eventually adapt to eating frozen mysis but I wouldn’t rely on that as a primary food source for them. Aside from that they are an easy going fish with excellent personalities.

A very beautiful fish but is on the difficult side due to their diet.

They are extremely stubborn about eating prepared food, and having live copepods in your tank is 100% necessary to prevent starvation. Very colorful and entertaining fish. Mine is actually a normal red, not a ruby, but the only difference is the darker coloration. Fairly small fish, but would recommend a medium to large tank to ensure they have enough pods.
