Tips from someone who has the 13.5 Gallon Fluval Evo tank with the mini Fluval Sea Protein Skimmer? I have no clue if mines doing anything and I can’t really get the water to go up high enough to fill the cup. I got the skimmer bcuz I was getting an oily film on the top of my water and while adjusting the aim on the little water pumps helped a little it didn’t do enough.

I can see water near the bottom of the cup when I look inside, but it never fills the center part or even touches the bottom of it. Not sure if that make sense

I have mine set full open and adjust where the levels are with the knob next to where the cup goes.

The knob next to the cup opens and closes a little door behind the vent. Even if it’s fully open it doesn’t reach. Same if it’s full closed. Or even half open. If I’d known tuning this thing would be such a pain I wouldn’t have gotten it 😣

These are bubbles, right? Mine never reaches this high.

Those are the bubbles. I adjust that with the knob thst is next to the collection cup. Try to get them to look like that

Alright here you go. The yellow in it now is just stained from previous use. I’ve only ever seen it get about a cm of water and that was the second day I had it, I’ve had it for over a month. Maybe it does work and I’m just over thinking it, but to me, the bubbles don’t seem high enough. They aren’t in the lower cup like your photo.

Do you collect any yellowish/brownish water in the collection cup? They seem to be difficult to set but seem to work.
Mine is set so the bubbles it makes come up to what looks like the bottom of the part that collects the yellowish water

I never see any water in it. The bubbles I can’t get to reach the bottom of the cup like you said. No matter the setting or how full my aquarium is. Right now it’s stained yellowish around the bottom like it had water in it once but never again.
