Help! Started having a Nitrite spike in my tank. Not sure what it could be. I. Noticed it yesterday and I did a 50% water change but what could be causing this? I checked and everything in the tank is alive and well. Tank was cycled previously and then added in some fish and inverts. Is it just adjusting to the bio load?

Newly cycled tank? Add fish slow. If you do too much too fast you can overwhelm the bacteria you have. Keep measuring and you should see it recede again. In general no more than 2 fish at a time. Let it adjust a week or two, then you can add two more.
