Hey everyone- I’m having a bit of a green hair algae problem, I’m staying on top of feeding, I’m physically removing some too, but I’ve lost a few snails and hermits in the past year, and feel I’m just lacking algae eaters.
For reference, when it comes to algae eaters I currently have 5 blue leg hermits, 8-9 nerite snails, 2 cerith snails, a conch and a tuxedo urchin.
So, do you have any suggestions for clean up crew to eat algae in a 25 gallon that will get along with my other inverts and small fish (I’m scared an emerald crab may attack my cleaner shrimp or goby/pistol shrimp pair.)
Thank you in advance!
Tanks two months old now and doing great so far !
Two clowns
One cleaner shrimp
4 hermits
New guys just arrived!! 1 firefish, 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 GSP, 1 leather
Got my first anemone! It has moved around a bit but right its so big!
The male clownfish keeps hosting it but the female kinda doesn’t care that much.
Also got a Cleaner Shrimp and its learning the feeding routine so well! 🫶🏽
Can anyone advise what this white patch is on my green polyp toadstool please? Polyps were open fine earlier today when the lights were on. CUC is cleaner shrimp and x3 orange leg hermit crabs x1 turbo snail.
Cleaner shrimp is hanging out 😅
Its been two weeks since I got a pair of Long fin Clownfish!
They finally settled and started to learn their feeding cues! Much less food waste now!
I got some diatoms in the sand and glass but the copepods and snails are catching up nicely!
Now is just a lil maintenance 😁
Excited to add a cleaner shrimp and/or hermit crabs in the next couple of week! (Still deciding on the hermits) What you guys think?
And now I’m researching for compatibility for the anemones and soft corals
or maybe just add the Euphyllia instead is anemones🤔
So I’ve got a question.. I have a 55 gallon saltwater aquarium with 20 gallon sump. I neglected the tank for about a two month time frame due to circumstances (not proud of it).. been trying to get it back up and running like it used to. I have 2 clownfish, a royal gramma, coral beauty, 2 chromis, and a Kleins butterfly. My cleanup crew was awful before with only two turbo snails and two emerald crabs. The two turbo snails are no longer in the tank. Would 2 trochas, 3 cerith, 2 nassarius, 2 dwarf hermits, and a cleaner shrimp be a sufficient cleanup crew? That’s with the two emerald crabs already there. And potentially a lawnmower blenny at some point
Hi everyone, this is my tank which is 30x20x20 (excluding the water filtration system area, it is 20x20x20) and has 1 mini Blue Tang, 1 Mini clownfish and 1 cleaner shrimp. I am currently looking to clean my sand bed. Do you have any suggestions on how to clean the sand bed, using any method or using any creatures? Thank you very much everyone.

Got a new clown after the black/white male killed the other one. My LFS advised trying a female next, and so far I think we’re on a better path! 🤞🏻 The male was doing the twitching thing since the moment we introduced her, and they’ve been swimming peacefully since. Have a cleaner shrimp arriving this week then we are fully inhabited! On to corals next! Trying to decide if I want to do an anemone for the clowns with some soft corals, or just all soft corals… 🤔
Cleaner shrimp
Anyone deal with a clownfish bites before?
I got a cleaner shrimp and want my hand cleaned but since I took my glove off the big girl Helga has been very aggressive and even chased my hand away! Haven’t been bit yet, but how bad is the bite?
They never try this with my thick gloves, but as soon as it’s off they try nipping haha
