Second the brs 52 week video series. From my understanding you need to add some sort of reef start solution and then wait for the ammonia to return to ZERO, as your Ammonia levels decrease you should have a spike on nitrite. As that goes back down your nitrate (there’s a difference) levels will rise. After your nitrite levels return to/near zero do a large water change to remove the nitrates and then add your clean up crew. After that you should be okay to start adding fish.. SLOWLY Again, watch the brs 52 weeks of reefing series, super informative for beginners.

A month or more. Need to add starter to it for it to cycle.
